We have some really exciting news for the Event Professionals community. The EventCamp team, consisting of Christina Coster, Jessica Levin, Jeff Hurt, Mike McAllen, and I (Mike McCurry) held several planning meetings over the last few weeks. During those conversations our focus was to make some strategic decisions regarding the future of EventCamp. As a result of those meetings we have determined the following:
- EventCamp National Conference — EventCamp Headquarters will officially hold one annual conference per year, preferably in February. We will rotate this event around the country, from year to year, with a focus on major markets.

- EventCamp 2011 Annual Conference – Our team has selected Chicago as the targeted city, contingent upon locating a viable site. We hope to have the site selection work completed by sometime in May.
- EventCamp Regional/Local Conferences — Similar to “WordCamp Central” our EventCamp Headquarters team created some guidelines, to assist our friends and colleagues, across the world, in organizing their own local, regional and International EventCamp Conferences. For more information on this process please visit our “organize your own” page on this website.
Please subscribe to this blog, as we will be posting articles frequently, with updates to the planning process, for next year’s event.

Event Camp sounds like an amazing way to meet new people and get new resources.
