2011 EventCamp National Conference Chicago Venue & Hotel Selected

by Michael M. McCurry, CMP

In July we announced Chicago as the host city for the 2011 EventCamp National Conference (ECNC).  At that time a decision regarding choice of venue/hotel was pending.  The great news is the selection process is now complete.

Catalyst Ranch is ECNC 2011 Conference Venue

EventCamp Headquarters is pleased to announce that Catalyst Ranch, located in the West Loop area of Chicago, has been chosen as the official venue for 2011.  Catalyst Ranch has also made a significant sponsorship commitment to the event.  ECNC 2011 has grown from a one-day to a two-day conference, and will be held February 11-13. (Friday to Sunday)

Catalyst Ranch is a uniquely perfect facility for ECNC, as its environment and staff embrace a spirit of creativity and innovative thinking.  We are really excited to treat our event professionals colleagues  to an unusual meeting experience at this venue.  Here is a brief introductory video to get you acquainted.

Official ECNC Headquarters Hotel

The Hotel Allegro Chicago, a Kimpton Hotel, has been named as the official hotel headquarters for the ECNC 2011.  Located just five blocks away from Catalyst Ranch this boutique hotel is offering the following special features to ECNC attendees:

  • A special discounted room rate of $139.00,  single or double.  The rate is available three days prior to, and following the official event.  (2/8 to 2/16)
  • Complimentary high speed wireless internet
  • Aveda bath amenities
  • complimentary morning newspaper
  • complimentary daily wine hour in Hotel’s Living Room.
  • Complimentary overnight shoeshine
  • Full service concierge and personal assistant services
  • 24-hour business center
  • Onsite fitness center
  • Same day laundry/dry cleaning
  • Mind.Body.Spa in-room wellness and spa program
  • Bring your pet with you. Hotel Allegro Chicago is a pet-friendly hotel
  • Green Seal™ Silver Certified Chicago hotel

Stay tuned for more details of the 2011 ECNC ….. it’s gonna be awesome!

Hi Paul, we are really excited about this as well.

Now we just have to design an experience that leverages all the wonderful amenities this place has to offer. Hope you will get involved in helping us shape it.

Mike,

I’d love to get involved with helping to shape content and experience. the other thing I’d like to offer is help in running Event Camp as a sustainable event. Part of what I would hope we start to impart in terms of running effective meetings is not just content and engagement, but sustainablity as a core part of that experience and that engagement. Let me know if you’d like me to take that on. There are other eventprofs interested in this area and I could certainly bring them into the process as well.

cheers,
paul

Paul, we would love to get you involved.

Sustainability and content are both important issues we would love to enlist your expertise.

We will be back in touch once we get a little further into the game.

Thanks much for reaching out to us.

This looks so awesome!! EventCamp 2010 was truly an amazing event (by amazing, I mean game changing) – and I am SO excited for the 2011 event! The #eventprofs and #ec10 community continues to prove to be such a valuable and indispensible resource! I have slated EventCamp 2011 as a MUST on my to-do list.

Looking forward to seeing you and the rest of the #eventprofs / #ec10 crew soon! Hugs! :)

Yay Christina, it would not be the same without you present at an EventCamp.

You have been an inspiration to all of us over the past year, so we look forward to seeing you in Chicago for 2011 ECNC.

Thanks for the comment!

Beautiful! Looks like fun, and the name couldn’t be more appropriate…unless it was Martini Ranch (yes, in San Diego) haha.
Hopefully I’ll be able to make it this year – slight overlap with the MPI conference in Europe and I’m potentially committed to speaking there.

@Paul Maybe we can do something to set up a partnership with the GMIC to offer consulting and measurement with our tool. I know that for us as an AV company, we’re green whether our client cares or not…and that is the future :)

Is there a group code for booking the hotel online? I’m looking forward to attending my first Event Camp!

Michael M. McCurry, CMP November 25, 2010 at 4:15 am

Hi Jose,

To book the hotel, you just call their reservations department and identify yourself as an EventCamp Attendee. Regarding booking online, I will check into a code. That is a great question.

Thanks for stopping by

I’d love to also offer my help with any team building through technology at EventCamp, I participated in GMIC and people like Sam Smith raved about Event Camp that I have to be here this year!!!!
